Veg progress

Cabbages and cauliflowers looking good but have lost a few since I planted them.

Onions - both red and white coming along fine.

The carrots got a bit overgrown with the now ubiquitous wild rocket which I planted about 3 or 4 years ago which persists on growing all over the garden. They are now weed and rocket free but we've only got 2 and a half small rows left.

Brussel Sprouts doing OK. Hopefully they will be ready in time for Christmas dinner.

Runner Beans not looking to brill (what a shame!) - we got a bit sick of them last year so even if we get a quarter if what we did last year that should do us.

Our Leeks are looking a bit weedy, they don't look much bigger that when I planted them about a month ago.

The Peas are coming along great - should be ready soon!

Today I've planted out Spring Onions ande lettuce. Have also sown raddish seeds and some more lettuce.

Still have to plant the tomatoes and peppers in the greenhouse and some herbs - maybe next weekend!!

No Photos

OK so we forgot to take the camera with us, so no photos.

Went for a local walk today which turned in to a bit of a pub crawl. From our house in Bingley down the canal to Hirstwood and on to the river Aire by Grandad's and Sarah & Steve's, then on to the pack horse bridge, through Mouse Wood and across the 'Festival of Britain' Bridge in to Myrtle Park's 'bottom meadow'. Then along 'Riverside Walk' to the first pub on our pub crawl, the Brown Cow. Timothy Taylor's and a pint of 'Best' for Stu and a 'Ram Tam' for Alice, then on to the White Horse for Copper Dragon from the Skipton Brewery. From then on to the Ferrand's Arms for more Timmy Taylors. Then to the'spoons' IPA for Stu and a 'Rageing Meg' for Alice. The final pub was the Star, Stu had Tetley's and Alice had Tetley's Mild. Will remember the camera next time.

The long weekend!

Happy May Day! - Had a great long weekend!

Friday night - A few swift halfs after work with collegues, then a few ales at the Saltaire Brewery followed by a curry. It was great to catch up with friends we've not seen for ages.

Saturday - Helped mum at the allotment, and called in at Kelham Farm shop to stock up on goodies.

Sunday - Drinks etc at Will & Karen's for Will's Birthday.

Monday - Only managed to add Broadbeans to the veg plot, as it started to hail, so we packed it in.
