Drunken Chicken!! Yum Yum!!

Found a fab new recipe for the BBQ - Drunken Chicken/Beer Can Chicken/Beer Butt Chicken

Light your BBQ, put the coals around the outside and a foil tray in the middle for catching drips. When the coals are ready, open a can of beer and drink half. Then stab a few holes round the top part of the can.

Get your chicken - smear it in oil, rub it in whatever herbs & spices you want and sit your chicken on the beer can so it forms a kind of tripod.

Sit your chicken on the grill. Put the lid on your BBQ. Leave to cook for about 2 hours (or 'til done), you might have to add extra coals to keep it going. The chicken stays moist and the skin goes amazingly crispy.

Fab weather - Shiny new BBQ

Fantastic weather this weekend meant that we could at last get out in the garden. We've cleared the veg plot and done some planting. We've rigged up our cat deterent so fingers crossed it's now cat proof.

We also decided to spash out on a shiny new BBQ, so we just had to test it out. If the predicted long hot summer materialises then I'm sure we will get plenty of use out of it, as well as our revamped patio.

Grand National Tomorrow!

It's the Grand Natioanl Tomorrow. Dont usually bet but once a year I have a flutter on the National. I've picked 'Character Building' in the sweep stake at work.

I usually don't do too bad in the Grand National so tomorrow I'm going for the following each way:
  • Snowy Morning
  • Niche Market
  • Big Fella Thanks
  • Black Apalachi
  • Mon Mome

Fingers crossed.
